Security Message for U.S. Citizens: The Hague (The Netherlands) Demonstrations in The Hague

Dutch Police have informed the U.S. Embassy in The Hague that a demonstration to protest U.S. politics is scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2017. The demonstration is scheduled to begin at 13:00 and end at 15:00. Participants will march from the Malieveld to the U.S. Embassy and back. Police will be present to ensure public safety. Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
