Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Tegucigalpa (Honduras), Demonstration on March 2

The Embassy will limit its operations and cancel routine American Citizens Services from 8:00am until 1:00pm on March 2, 2017, due to a scheduled demonstration that is expected to occur in front of the Embassy. The Embassy has already contacted visa applicants who had appointments between 9:00am and 12:00pm to reschedule their appointments.

Emergency consular services for U.S. citizens will continue to be available. American Citizen Services staff will be available to take calls and emails. If you believe you have an emergency situation, please contact us first so we can assist you as best as we can.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. Avoid areas where demonstrations are taking place and exercise caution when in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
