HPR Approves Residential Rent and Administration Decree

Addis Ababa: The House of People's Representatives (HPR) has endorsed a residential rent and administration decree today. Briefing the House on the need for the bill, Chief Government Whip Tesfaye Beljige explained its timeliness and benefits to citizens. According to him, the decree would minimize the pressure on citizens by preventing unreasonable rent increase and legalizing renting procedures. The Chief Government Whip, who pointed out increase in residential house rent among the causes of inflation, noted the importance of a decree and procedures to control the problem. He said the residential rent and administration decree tabled has many benefits to ease the pressure. There would be a regulatory body that controls the execution of contracts between the owner of rental houses and the tenants, it was learned. Source: Ethiopian News Agency
