By Charity Nginyu A recent video circulating on social media has sparked controversy as renowned Nigerian pastor, Paul Enenche, interrupted a woman's testimony during a church service, alleging it to be false. In the video, the woman, identified as Anyim Christiana Nwamaka, was sharing her testimony of being the first graduate in her family, expressing gratitude for achieving a Bachelor's degree in Law. However, Pastor Enenche interjected, stating that there is no such thing as a Bachelor's degree in Law, and questioned the authenticity of her testimony. Images shared on social media later revealed that Nwamaka indeed graduated on April 13, 2024, from the University of Abuja. In a Facebook post, she expressed her gratitude for completing her Law program at the National Open University Abuja. She wrote ' And it came to pass yesterday 13th April being Saturday, 2024 at National Open University Abuja. Father, I am saying thank you for making me to Graduate from my Law programme.' The incident has stirred a wave of reactions online, with many condemning Pastor Enenche's actions as excessive and embarrassing. Kennedy Chibuike, a Facebook user called for an immediate apology from the pastor, stating that the embarrassment inflicted upon Nwamaka was unjustifiable. 'That pastor went too far; that embarrassment was way too much. That so-called man of God should apologize to that woman ASAP,' Kennedy Chibuike said. Oluyemisi Balogun Akinlolu, another user on his part expressed empathy for Nwamaka, highlighting the global embarrassment caused by the pastor's actions. He wondered, 'What would it cost Pastor Enenche if he immediately informed the lady that her testimony was wrong and corrected her on the spot. It is a global embarrassment of the highest proportions. I feel for the lady.' Some speculated that Pastor Enenche's behavior may have been influenced by a previous incident involving a fake miracle in his church, suggesting that he may have reacted to Nwamaka's testimony to avoid further social media backlash. ' I learned there was an occurrence in his church last week concerning a fake wheelchair miracle or so. Guess he behaved that way to avoid social media scandal of fake testimony,' suggested Olagboye.
