Mayor Says ENA Achieved Robust Status to Show True Image of Ethiopia to World

Addis Ababa: Mayor of Addis Ababa City Adanech Abiebie said that the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) has been becoming a strong media house in presenting the world with a true picture of Ethiopia. ENA, the sole national wire service in the country inaugurated its state-of-the-art media complex today in the presence of government officials. Speaker of House Federation Teshager Agegnehu, Addis Ababa City Mayor Adanech Abiebie, Minister of Government Communication Service, Legesse Tulu and other senior government officials attended the inauguration ceremony. During the inauguration ceremony, Mayor of Addis Ababa City Adanech Abiebie said ENA, which is the country's oldest media institution serving the nation for more than 80 years, is equipped with modern technologies. She commended ENA for its cutting edge media technologies and said it has attained a status to properly inform the whole world about the true image of Ethiopia. Moreover, she observed ENA is also equipped with human resources and other materials along with modern technologies urging the agency to exert more efforts to promote the truth about Ethiopia in the world. Adanech reiterated that the city administration is committed to providing all the necessary support to ENA in its effort to expedite the national development of the country. ENA's new media complex is equipped with cutting edge media facilities that encompasses three TV and four radio studios outfitted with state-of-the-art editing and recording equipment and several offices, library, gymnasium and meeting rooms. Established in 1942 as a national wire news center, the Ethiopian News Agency has been gathering, compiling and disseminating news stories to the public through the mass media, websites and various social media platforms.
