UNFPA Executive Director Commends Burkina Faso’s Progress and Pledges Enhanced Cooperation


New york: The new Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Dene Keita, reaffirmed Friday in New York the priority given to Burkina Faso in the actions of her institution, following an audience with the Burkinabe Ministers of Humanitarian Action, Pelagie Kabore, and Youth, Roland Somda.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Dene Keita expressed her honor in engaging with the two Burkinabe government officials, congratulating them on the progress made for the benefit of the population since their appointment. She emphasized the importance of the ministries of Humanitarian Action and Youth for the country’s future, highlighting the fruitful discussions held to celebrate their achievements. Keita noted the significant solidarity between the two departments and their collaborative efforts.



The UN official praised Burkina Faso’s resilience and dynamism, referring to it as a “priority for UNFPA.” She committed to continuing and strengthening collaboration efforts to enhance the living conditions of the population, with a particular focus on young people and vulnerable groups.
