State Minister Ambassador Mesganu Extended Appreciation to TOPPAN Holding for Investment Efforts In Ethiopia


Addis Ababa: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mesganu Arga extended his appreciation to TOPPAN Holdings for their exemplary efforts to invest in a joint venture with Ethiopian investment groups, notably in the printing investment.

Prior to the TICAD ministerial meeting in Japan, Ambassador Mesganu paid a visit to Toppan Holdings Inc. and held a constructive discussion with Kazunori Sakai, Executive Vice President and COO, on August 23, 2024.

Underscoring Ethiopia’s untapped investment opportunities and huge market potential, Mesganu called on Kazunori to chart out new domains such as digitization, ICT, and packaging, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Kazunori Sakai, acknowledging the immense economic potential of Ethiopia, underscored his company’s readiness to leverage expertise and technology to further expand investment.

He further expressed his company’s keenness to engage in digitization and other related investment sectors.

During the discussion, Ambassador Mesganu along with m
embers of the delegation visited the company’s show room, printing museum, and virtual reality simulation labs.

Meanwhile, the state minister held discussion with Shoichi Kobayashi, chairman of Japan Development Institute (JDI) and expressed Ethiopia’s steadfast commitment to support Japan’s investment in Ethiopia.

The state minister also expressed gratitude and stressed the importance of partnerships between the Institute and relevant institutions in Ethiopia.

He highlighted investment opportunities and ongoing robust macroeconomic reforms that have been undertaken by the government.

Kobayashi on his part expressed keen interest in Ethiopia and appreciated the country’s economic reforms.

Japan Development Institute has notable experience in the development of Special Economic Zone in Asia.
