Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Bucharest (Romania), Planned Demonstration on June 1

Romanian education unions are planning a large protest on Wednesday, June 1st in Bucharest. 15,000 protesters are planned to participate of which 7,000 are arriving from outside of Bucharest. City Hall expects 130 buses parked on Miori?a fountain, Chitila, ?oseaua Colentina, along the 1st traffic lane. The protest is scheduled between 10:00 AM and 2:30 PM in Piata Victoriei - Buze?ti Street - Berzei Street - ?tirbei Vod? Street - Splaiul Independen?ei - Constantin Noica Street - Cotroceni Street - Iuliu Maniu Blvd. - Polytechnic University

The protest activity will directly affect traffic in the following areas:

- In Pia?a Victoriei the traffic will be restricted to two lanes in front of the government building between Aviatorilor Blvd., Calea Victoriei and Lasc?r Catargiu Blvd.

- Paris Street will be one-way traffic only towards Aviatorilor Blvd.
