Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Bangui (Central African Republic), Disturbances in PK5

The U.S. Embassy has received reports of disturbances in Bangui's PK5 district. The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) has restricted the movement of civilian employees to the area and the U.S. Embassy has advised employees to avoid the area. U.S. citizens are also advised to avoid travel to PK5.

U.S. citizens who have decided to stay in the Central African Republic (CAR) despite the Travel Warning should regularly review their personal security situation. Embassy Bangui cannot provide consular services to U.S. citizens in CAR at this time. U.S. citizens in need of assistance should contact the U.S. Embassy in Yaounde, Cameroon.
