Speeding car kills three students and two parents in Misole, leaves eight between life and death.
Three parents and five students of GHS Misole and GHS Bongo in the Sanaga Maritime Division of the Littoral region are under intense medical care at the Yassa Gynaco obstetrics and pediatric hospital in the Douala 3 sub-division. Two of the students have undergone surgery, while two others have been admitted in the reanimation ward, due to an accident that occurred on the national road number 3, linking Douala and Yaounde early October 16, 2023, that killed five people, notably three students on their way to school and two parents accompanying their children.
According to witnesses, a speeding driver, in an attempt to avoid ramming a vehicle Infront of him, crushed a parent crossing the road with some students, killing four of them on the spot. The fifth succumbed to death in the hospital.
The speeding private car overturned several times and injured severely, eight other children along the road. While at the Yassa Gynaco obstetrics and pediatric hospital, three of them underwent surgery.
Medics are still battling to get them out of danger.
