Private Health Center Inaugurated in Guelwongo to Enhance Local Healthcare


Ouagadougou: A private health center in Guelwongo to improve the quality of care. The Secretary General of the Nahouri province, Emile Hien, presided over the official opening of a private health center in the village of Guelwongo, commune of Ziou. The initiative is spearheaded by the RAPHA association “Laf¨-Yiir©”.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the private health center Rapha ‘Laf¨-yir©’ was inaugurated with the aim of addressing health issues in the communes of Zecco, Ziou, T®©b©l©, and nearby villages in Ghana. The facility is equipped with a waiting room, general and specialist medical consultation areas, a laboratory, an ultrasound room, a hospitalization room, and a delivery room.



Dr. Romond Sia, president of the RAPHA association and the promoter of the health center, emphasized that the center seeks to support local health facilities by providing quality care. He highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to prioritize health and improve living conditions, stating that the construction of this center aligns with these national objectives.



Anata Goro/Sor©, the regional health director of Nazinon, expressed her satisfaction with the establishment of the center, noting its significance in a locality distant from the Medical Center with Surgical Antenna (CMA) of P´. She praised the promoter for the initiative, which addresses the lack of technical facilities for laboratory and imaging tests in the area.



Emile Hien, the Secretary General of the Nahouri province, lauded the developer and the Guelwongo community for their efforts in constructing the health center, which is expected to enhance the quality of care. He urged the community to maintain the facility to ensure its effectiveness and reduce the need for patient transfers and examinations in P´.



The inauguration ceremony was marked by blessings from traditional and religious authorities, who prayed for peace in Burkina Faso. A delegation of traditional chiefs from villages bordering Ghana also attended to show their support for the initiative.
