Bobo-dioulasso: Pharmacists in the Western Ordinary Region concluded the 72-hour World Pharmacist Day this Saturday, September 27, 2025, with a cross-country race and an aerobics session, activities designed to promote health and cohesion within their profession.

According to Burkina Information Agency, every year, the pharmaceutical community commemorates September 25 as World Pharmacist Day. For the 2025 edition, the Bobo-Dioulasso Regional Council of the Order of Pharmacists organized three days of activities under the theme: “Think pharmacist, think health.”

The program included a blood donation, radio broadcasts, and sports activities that brought together pharmacists, employees, and partners. The cross-country race began at the Cinquantenaire roundabout, passing by the Maison de la Culture, before ending with an aerobics session in front of the pharmacist’s house.

According to the President of the Regional Council of the Order of Pharmacists, Dr. Abdoul Aziz Djire, this celebration is a moment of reflection and communion: “Every September 25, we celebrate our profession; it is an opportunity to highlight the commitment, competence, and essential missions that characterize pharmacists, key players in public health.”

Dr. Djire emphasized that sport is an important factor in health: “Physical activity can provide health, it is beneficial for well-being when practiced regularly.”

Beyond the health dimension, the meeting also aimed to strengthen ties between the various players in the pharmaceutical sector. For Dr. Djire, this synergy helps to consolidate team spirit and place the profession at the service of the well-being of the population.
