Peace Requisite to Engage People in Development, Says Premier

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed underlined today the need for a common responsibility to ensure peace, which is imperative for the people to turn their faces towards development.

After the discussion he held with representatives in eastern Oromia region, Abiy wrote on his Facebook that since peace is the foundation of all good things, development is unthinkable without peace.

“We have a common responsibility to ensure that our people turn their faces towards development by securing peace. I am grateful to the people for my stay in Nekemte (town) and for the discussion,” he wrote.

The prime minister had discussion this morning with representatives drawn from East Wollega, West Wollega, Kellem Wollega, and Horogudru Wollega zones in the town of Nekemte, Oromia region.

Abba Gaddas, Haadha Siinqees, religious leaders, government officials and others warmly welcomed the prime minister upon his arrival.
