Nazinon Solidarity: Association Delivers Vital Donations to Manga’s Medical Center and Students

Nazinon: The Burkinabe Association for the Promotion of Health and Education of Vulnerable People (ABPSEPV) offered, Friday, in Manga, in the Nazinon region, biomedical equipment, school kits and financial assistance to the Medical Center with Surgical Antenna (CMA) of Manga, to students from poor families, as well as to the best students in the BAC and BEPC exams in the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, ABPSEPV President Solange Gagnon emphasized the importance of the occasion, highlighting the focus on improving the well-being of vulnerable populations. The donation ceremony was attended by local administrative, customary, and religious leaders.

The Manga CMA benefited from this gesture of solidarity by receiving a variety of biomedical equipment such as trolleys for patients with functional disabilities, disinfectant, and office furniture for staff and patients. This donation follows a previous contribution that included a comprehensive renovation of the CMA’s maternity ward. Solange Gagnon noted that the renovation cost was approximately ten million CFA francs.

The initiative began after Solange Gagnon visited the maternity ward and witnessed its deteriorating condition, which prompted the association to start renovation work. The efforts were supported by Mario Gagnon, CEO of JMS Drilling and sponsor of the ceremony.

Dr. Inoussa Sawadogo, Chief Medical Officer of the Manga Health District, acknowledged that the donation met critical needs of the CMA, enhancing both working conditions and patient care. He also highlighted that the renovation addressed significant building defects, including electrical wiring issues that once posed a fire risk.

In addition to the support for the CMA, 150 students from disadvantaged families across the Nazinon provinces of Zoundw©ogo, Nahouri, and Baz¨ga received school kits. Student representative Tapsoba Zalissa expressed gratitude on behalf of the recipients, wishing blessings upon the association and its partners.

Furthermore, ABPSEPV awarded financial packages to top students Neya Lionel and Sia Sand© for their outstanding performances in the BEPC and BAC exams, respectively. Solange Gagnon explained that these contributions align with the association’s mission to promote health and education for vulnerable individuals.

Solange Gagnon emphasized the necessity of community collaboration, resource mobilization, and strengthened solidarity to ensure fundamental rights to health and education for vulnerable people. Co-sponsor El Hadj Issouf Nikiema praised the initiative’s significance and expressed his commitment to supporting ABPSEPV’s cause.

During the ceremony, over 200,000 CFA francs were distributed to the students, accompanied by a community meal. Prominent figures associated with the association received certificates of appreciation. This donation marks the third edition of such events organized by ABPSEPV in Zoundweogo since 2019, under the theme “Support to the administration and populations for resilience in the face of health and education challenges in Burkina Faso.”
