Mouhoun: On the sidelines of the 10th edition of the Badinaba Festival, the Badinaba Dehoun association organized a significant reforestation operation on the site of the Nounou high school, a village in the commune of Safan©, Boucle du Mouhoun region. This event took place on Sunday, July 27, 2025, and marked a step forward in the national effort to restore plant cover and mobilize communities for sustainable development.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the reforestation ceremony was attended by the President of the special delegation of Safan©, Ali Traor©, along with the departmental service of Water and Forests. The presence of these authorities underscored their commitment to supporting community initiatives that benefit the environment.
Minsita Demb©l©, representing the head of the association, and the village chief of Nounou, Gn©m© Boulaye, expressed gratitude towards the administrative and customary authorities for their support. They encouraged the community to continue efforts towards achieving economic and social development.
Lieutenant Samuel Tiabondou, head of the Water and Forestry Service, praised the initiative, aligning it with the presidential vision of regreening the territory. He emphasized the importance of plant maintenance, stating that while planting is an act, protection is a duty. He hopes to see the 200 plants thriving by next season.
The PDS of Safan©, on behalf of the High Commissioner of the Mouhoun province, lauded the Badinaba Dehoun association for their exemplary environmental action. He urged the residents of Nounou to take care of the seedlings and reaffirmed the administration’s support for such initiatives.
