Literature/”Healing to Love”, a Book to Anticipate and Heal from ”Goumin”

Ouagadougou: Burkinabe author Wendpuire Anita Irene BIKIENGA has published “Healing to Love,” a book designed to help everyone overcome emotional wounds, particularly heartbreak, and regain the ability to love fully.

According to Burkina Information Agency, romantic disappointments, often linked to unrealistic expectations, are the cause of much emotional suffering. To get back on track, “Healing to Love” offers a four-part approach: understanding romantic disappointment, healing internally and regaining balance, starting over on new foundations, and using practical tools accompanied by coaching proposals for those who want additional support.

The author emphasizes that introspection and learning love languages facilitate a better expression of one’s needs and the creation of healthy relationships. She encourages her readers to deepen their self-knowledge and self-love in order to build fulfilling relationships. “I originally wrote the book to help those who experience ‘goumin’ (heartache, editor’s note) get through this ordeal. But with the various feedback, it appears that it’s not just for them. Those who haven’t experienced goumin also find tools to avoid it,” explains Wendpuire Anita Irene BIKIENGA.

The book contains exercises to help you get to know yourself. It’s a process to get to know yourself better with exercises and a tailored method. Some even say it has improved their professional and social relationships,” adds Wendpuire Anita Irene BIKIENGA.

Published on July 5, 2025, by the publishing house argenlivre.com, the 215-page book is available on the publishing house’s website and will soon be available on other platforms, including Amazon. Its price is set at 10,000 FCFA.
