Liptako: 337 new high school graduates from the region complete their compulsory patriotic immersion at the Liptako military camp on Tuesday, in pouring rain. The graduation ceremony brought together administrative, military, traditional, and religious authorities, as well as parents and friends who came to cheer on the young people.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the official graduation of this first class took place in the parade ground of the Dori military camp. Despite the rain, families and constituent bodies were keen to mark their presence. The representative of the immersed, Mariam Tall, expressed her gratitude to the supervisors for their dedication, the parents for their sacrifices, and all the goodwill that made the program a success. She urged her comrades to keep the lessons learned alive, encouraging actions that resonate within African society and beyond.
The commander of the regional training center of the 4th military region, Captain Thomas Dakin Ilboudo, stated that the training covered themes essential to civic awareness. The curriculum included topics such as the fight against violent extremism, the roles of institutions, geopolitics, globalization, and the political history of Burkina Faso. National symbols, heroes, and regional and international issues were also part of the program. Practical workshops on digital citizenship and cybersecurity complemented the theoretical courses.
Captain Ilboudo expressed gratitude to the military hierarchy, the regional directorate of secondary education, and others involved in the program. He also acknowledged the support from administrative, customary, and religious authorities.
The High Commissioner of Seno Province, Wulfran Emile Firmin Bamas, encouraged students to apply their new skills and attitudes to serve the nation. He emphasized the importance of their role in the future of the country.
This first experience of patriotic immersion in Liptako demonstrates the authorities’ commitment to strengthening national awareness among young people. The 337 graduates leave with new knowledge, experiences, and a spirit of cohesion to face future challenges.
