Lady kills nephew over farm chores in Mbouda


A 34-year-old woman is in police custody following the gruesome murder of her 19-year-old visually impaired nephew in the Bamessingue Toumaka area of the West Region. The victim, identified as Yemeli, was allegedly beaten to death after refusing to assist his aunt with farm work.

The incident occurred over the weekend, with reports suggesting that Clarisse, the suspect, subjected her nephew to severe physical abuse before binding him and leaving him to die. Residents claim that this was not an isolated incident, as the woman had a history of mistreating the young man.

The discovery of the victim’s body led to a tense confrontation between law enforcement and the suspect’s family. Additional security forces were deployed to the scene to quell the situation.

The body of the deceased has been transported to the Mbouda District Hospital mortuary for an autopsy. The suspect remains in detention as investigations into the matter continue.
