Kapng’etuny Ward Residents in Shock Over MCA’s Death


Kapng’etuny: Residents of Chemundu/Kapng’etuny Ward and the entire Nandi County have been plunged into mourning following the demise of their Member of County Assembly and Majority Whip, Julius Kipruto Keter.

According to Kenya News Agency, County Assembly Speaker Philemon Melly released a statement revealing that Keter had been unwell for the past three weeks and succumbed at Fountain Hospital Eldoret at 8:30 am on Saturday. Melly described Keter as a legend and a true servant of the people, emphasizing his dedication to improving the lives of his constituents.

Nandi Governor Stephen Sang expressed his condolences to Keter’s family, highlighting the deep personal and professional loss. He noted Keter’s unwavering commitment to his community and his strong advocacy for development within the Nandi County Assembly. Sang remembered Keter as a friend and a leader whose humility and thoughtful leadership would be greatly missed.

The announcement of Keter’s passing has left Chemundu/Kapng’etuny Ward residents d
evastated. Many have expressed that his hard work and generosity were invaluable and would be sorely missed. A section of youths in the area acknowledged Keter’s responsiveness to their concerns and his efforts in initiating life-transforming programs.

Keter was elected as a Member of the Nandi County Assembly on a UDA ticket during the 2022 general elections, marking his first term in office.
