Houet Celebrates Academic Excellence Day for Students and Teachers in District 7


Ouagadougou: A day to recognize the merits of the students and teachers of district 7: District 7 of Bobo-Dioulasso celebrated a day of academic excellence this Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the town hall of the district. The event brought together students, teachers, parents, local authorities, and school promoters to honor the remarkable performances recorded during the last school year.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the theme of the event was “Academic Excellence and Patriotic Commitment, Lever of Endogenous Development.” The day aimed to pay tribute to students whose results have stood out in exams, as well as teachers whose dedication and commitment have helped to raise academic performance despite challenges. The Bobo 7 basic education district recorded a 90% success rate during the past school year. District authorities took the opportunity to recognize the merits of the various actors.



During this ceremony of excellence, winners included the best students in the district in the Primary School Certificate (CEP), students from villages attached to the district, internally displaced and disabled students, and the best students from Franco-Arab establishments. They were rewarded with school kits, bicycles, motorized bicycles, and financial envelopes.



Alongside the students, teachers and school administrators with the highest success rates were also acknowledged for their achievements. The most deserving students received certificates and motorcycles.



The town hall of District 7 aims to strengthen the culture of effort, promote academic performance, and encourage both students and teachers to pursue excellence. The President of the special delegation of District 7, Souleymane Sanon, expressed that the ceremony reflects the pride and encouragement of local authorities to promote academic excellence. “We are proud of our students and grateful to our teachers for their tireless commitment,” he emphasized.



Moussa Sanou, the representative of the President of the special delegation of the commune of Bobo-Dioulasso, commended the commitment of those involved in the educational world and urged students to continue their efforts. He stated, “Excellence is never the result of chance. It is built through work, discipline, and respect for republican values.”



The winners, visibly moved and proud, expressed their gratitude to the local authorities for the recognition and encouragement. They see this distinction as a motivation to persevere in their efforts and aim higher. They praised the commitment of the town hall of the 7th district and the basic education district, believing that such initiatives strengthen self-confidence and the quest for excellence in educational establishments.
