K©n©dougou: The governor of the Guiriko region, Mariama Gnanou/Konat©, chaired the first ordinary session of the Guiriko Regional Consultation Framework (RCF) in Orodara, highlighting a strong mobilization of regional development actors.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting, themed “The major actions of the National Office of Major Projects in the Guiriko region: challenges and perspectives,” brought together key regional development stakeholders. The High Commissioner of the K©n©dougou province, Sadou Sakira, expressed appreciation for selecting Orodara as the host town for this significant gathering, viewing it as a chance to address regional concerns.
Governor Mariama Gnanou/Konat© emphasized the strategic importance of the National Office of Major Projects (BNGP), which acts as the technical arm of the Presidency of Faso. She highlighted BNGP’s role in implementing projects with significant socio-economic impacts, covering infrastructure, agriculture, water, housing, and energy sectors.
Among the noted initiatives, the Agro-pastoral Offensive launched in 2024 was mentioned, with its initial promising results in Guiriko. Additionally, ongoing programs such as PAFA-4R, PRECEL, and the Integrated Development Program for the Samendeni Valley (PDIS) were discussed.
Governor Gnanou called for enhanced synergy and commitment from CCR members in project monitoring. She acknowledged the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their role in securing the region. She urged participants to leverage the discussions to bolster the region’s transformation dynamics, describing the framework as a strategic tool for inclusive dialogue.
