Faso Mebo Initiative Nears Completion of Southern Route at Tingandogo Hospital

Ouagadougou: Earthworks on the southern road of the Tingandogo hospital, launched as part of the Faso Mebo presidential initiative, are 90% complete, announced Thursday the commander of the 2nd road brigade, Captain Yasser Traore. The 1.2-kilometer-long track will facilitate access to the hospital’s various departments, including the cancer ward. Technicians had to overcome numerous challenges related to rising water and the marshy nature of the terrain.

According to Burkina Information Agency, civil engineer Jean-Baptiste Kohio, a member of the technical team, stated that the initially planned 600 m project was extended to 1.74 km with authorization from management. “We cleared, stripped, and filled the road with an average thickness of 0.5 m. Today, the road is well defined and passable,” he added.

Deployed for six months, the Faso Mebo initiative aims to open up and develop road and public infrastructure in the towns and villages of Burkina Faso.
