Faso Mebo Initiative Mobilizes Support in Goulmou Region


Ouagadougou: The Governor of the Goulmou region, Ram Joseph Kafando, chaired an information meeting on the presidential initiative Faso Mebo, with key figures from Tapoa and Sirba in attendance. The meeting, held on Friday, September 26, 2025, aimed to garner voluntary and substantial support from the local population for this national policy spearheaded by President Captain Ibrahim Traore.



According to Burkina Information Agency, on September 12, regional governors, including the Governor of Goulmou, received directives from the Head of State about the execution of Faso Mebo, emphasizing the need for strong citizen mobilization. The meeting in Fada N’Gourma was organized in response to this directive.



Governor Ram Joseph Kafando encouraged the participants to actively support the launch and execution of the initiative in the Goulmou region. He highlighted the achievements already seen in Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso as motivation for Goulmou to participate fully in the initiative.



The regional coordinator of Faso Mebo, Captain Hamidou Traore, along with two colleagues, outlined the origins and core principles of the initiative, including the details of its beautification phase in Fada N’Gourma. He emphasized that the policy, funded by both state budget and local contributions, aims to improve urbanization and open up cities to enhance citizens’ living conditions.



Faso Mebo is one of six presidential initiatives in Burkina Faso and plays a crucial role in the country’s urban transformation efforts.
