Ethiopia has attracted over 2.7 billion USD over the last nine months, the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) told the Trade and Tourism Affairs Standing Committee, of the House of Peoples' Representatives(HPR) today.

While presenting the nine-month performance report of the fiscal year, EIC Commissioner, Lelisse Nemie said though the target was to attract 4.55 billion dollars in FDI during the stated period only 2.762 billion USD was obtained.

The EIC has managed to perform 61 percent of the plan; she elaborated.

Compared to the same period last year, the FDI flow has shown an increase of 10 percent, it was learned.

The Trade and Tourism Affairs Standing Committee urged the EIC to increase the flow of FDI.
