L©raba: The guarantors of customs and traditions in Sindou expressed their appreciation for the establishment of a national day dedicated to customs and traditions in Burkina Faso by the first authorities. This initiative appears to be accepted more than ever by the communities concerned in Sindou.
According to Burkina Information Agency, May 15 has been officially established in Burkina Faso by the first authorities in 2024 as the day to honor customs and traditions fundamental to African civilization. Now in its second edition, the day is appreciated by the guarantors of tradition in Sindou.
Souileymane Kon©, the main heir to the customs and traditions and one of the land chiefs in Sindou, expressed pleasant surprise over the decision to officially establish a day dedicated to customs and traditions on par with other major festivals in the country. For him, this initiative signifies a major step toward the well-being and development of Burkina Faso. Kon© believes that the misfortunes faced today stem from abandoning the path taken by ancestors, emphasizing the need to reconnect with traditional roots.
Welcoming President Ibrahim Traor© and his government for this initiative, Mr. Kon© envisions a better future for the Burkinabe head of state and the entire country. Sina Ouattara, the first vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Sindou, also supported the initiative, seeing it as a positive move from the government.
Ouattara emphasized the significance of customs and traditions, urging every Burkinabe to embrace and celebrate them. He stressed that the value placed on customs by the president fosters peace, social cohesion, and happiness. He called on the youth to uphold the customs and traditions inherited from their ancestors.
Provincial director of Culture of L©raba, Michel Kabor©, noted the enthusiasm from provincial authorities and populations alike, indicating that the national day of customs and traditions is well received in L©raba. Kabor© urged for more support from authorities and individuals to enhance the event, encouraging the community to organize activities for the celebration.
