Cultural Industries: The 9th Edition of the JPICC Opens in Ouagadougou


Ouagadougou: The 9th edition of the Cultural and Creative Industries Promotion Days (JPICC) was launched this Tuesday in Ouagadougou. The event will take place from July 29 to 30, 2025, under the theme: “Cultural Entrepreneurship in Burkina Faso: What catalysts can drive genuine development?”



According to Burkina Information Agency, the representative of the Minister of Culture, Fid¨le Tamini, opened the JPICC activities this Tuesday morning. He emphasized that the theme aims to contribute to the development of competitive cultural and creative industries, with high added value, and to create decent jobs.



Mr. Tamini explained that the goal is to establish the JPICC as a framework for reflecting on the challenges of developing cultural and creative industries in Burkina Faso. Additionally, it seeks to develop strategies to support those implementing innovative initiatives in cultural entrepreneurship.



Innovative activities have been introduced for this edition, including pre-fora held in Tenkodogo, D©dougou, Ouahigouya, and Fada N’Gourma. These activities are intended to assist cultural actors in formalizing their businesses.



The Minister’s representative also announced an incubation session for 22 young cultural project leaders. Other events include B to B meetings, visits to cultural businesses, and a fair called Journ©es des fili¨res.
