Ouagadougou: The staff of the Higher Council of Communication (CSC) responded to the call of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, this Saturday, October 11, by actively participating in the Faso Mebo initiative through an operation called ‘One agent, one bag of cement’. In one month, the large CSC family, made up of members of the College of Advisors, administrative staff from headquarters and decentralized structures (DRO, DRE, provincial representatives), as well as former agents and retirees, mobilized to collect 1,700,000 FCFA.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this sum made it possible to provide Faso Mebo with a large batch of equipment consisting of 260 bags of cement (13 tons), 10 wheelbarrows, and 36 shovels. During the presentation of the donation, the president of the CSC, Louis Modeste W. Ouedraogo, praised the staff’s mobilization and emphasized the symbolic significance of this gesture.
“This donation, although modest, is full of meaning. It reaffirms the total commitment of the staff of the Higher Council of Communication to the ideals of the progressive and popular revolution. It is part of the second phase of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation,” he declared.
The president of the CSC added that this initiative responds to the call of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, inviting each citizen to take concrete acts of civic duty and patriotism. “Beyond the symbolism, we wanted to show our total support for all presidential initiatives and hope that other institutions in the country will follow suit so that, together, we can build our nation,” he added.
Mr. Ouedraogo also expressed his gratitude to the former CSC workers who, although retired or working elsewhere, were keen to participate in this civic action: “They have proven that they remain deeply attached to the CSC family. It is together, in solidarity and conviction, that we can build our country,” he concluded.
