China, AU High-level Exchange Demonstrates Political Mutual Trust, Paves Road for Future Cooperation: Ambassador Changchun

The high-level exchange between China and the African Union (AU) demonstrates political mutual trust and paves the road for future cooperation, according to China’s Head of Mission to AU and ECA Ambassador Hu Changchun.

Briefing journalists today, the ambassador said the high-level exchange between China and AU demonstrates political mutual trust and paves the road for future cooperation.

China and Africa have many common agendas and China supports the African Union (AU) to play an active role in regional and international affairs, he added.

“China supports Africa integration process and the AU to play active role in regional and international affairs. China and AU have explored many key areas of cooperation such as poverty reduction, economic recovery, job training, education, health care, cross border payment, and green development,” Ambassador Hu Changchun elaborated.

According to him, China and AU have set up expert group on economic cooperation to support the implementation of AfCFTA, and China takes the lead in supporting AU in joining G-20.

“African countries are committed to building integrated, peaceful and prosperous Africa, realizing Agenda 2063 which is highly compatible with Chinese strategy of high quality development and modernization. This provides huge potential for China-Africa cooperation. We will join hands with African friends focusing on the synergy of the Belt and Road Initiative.”

China and Africa together will keep upgrading the mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation for better future of China-Africa friendship, the ambassador pointed out.

China and Africa are celebrating 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
