Cameroon Cup matches disrupted by inaccessibility to stadiums

The 2024 edition of the Cameroon Cup is currently facing a hurdle as access to certain stadiums has been restricted, causing delays and postponed matches. The stadiums affected include the Bamendzi stadium in Bafoussam, Mbouda Municipal stadium, and Omnisport Annex 1, all of which were reportedly locked on game days. For instance, Sable Of Batie was scheduled to play Union of Douala at the Omnisport Annex one stadium on May 18th, but the stadium was locked causing the match to be rescheduled to a later date at the Fecafoot technical centre. A similar situation occurred in Bafoussam where PWD of Bamenda had to play As Dibamba and Dragon had to play Riziere FC, but both matches were unable to proceed due to locked stadiums. The cause of the restriction is believed to be due to unpaid bills or incomplete negotiations. A few months ago, the ONIES, in charge of Cameroon's stadiums, published the amounts FECAFOOT has to pay for various stadiums. The fees ranged from 150,000 to a million FCFA.
