Boulgou: The National Tourism Entrepreneur Award (PNET) reached its apotheosis this Friday in Tenkodogo, in the Nakambe region. 22 trophies, including 5 tributes to companies and individuals, 5 special prizes and 12 official prizes, were awarded to those working to promote excellence and creativity in the tourism and hospitality sector.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held under the theme “Competitiveness of tourism businesses and promotion of the Burkina Faso destination”, and concluded with the Tourism Entrepreneur Night. This activity aims to highlight the contribution of these entrepreneurs to the promotion of the ‘Burkina Faso’ destination on regional and international levels.
Five tribute trophies were awarded to individuals who have made their mark on the tourism landscape: Poulma Marcel Zoma of the Beneb Souka hotel, Seydou Traore of Tropic Voyages, the late Moussa Leopold Sawadogo of the White Strone hotel, Marie Ilboudo, and Jean-Pierre Simpore. Additionally, five special prizes were awarded to notable companies and individuals, including Eric Ouedraogo of the Yaobgueta hotel complex and Aoulatou Konditamde from Namalgue Zanga hotel in Manga.
The official awards were divided into four categories: hospitality and entertainment, travel and tours, catering, and accommodation. Each category was further divided into subcategories. Notable winners included Souleymane Yougbare in the local guides subcategory and Hotel Lancaster Ouaga 2000 in the high-end accommodation subcategory. All winners received a trophy, a certificate, gadgets, and the sum of one million CFA francs.
The 8th edition of the National Tourism Entrepreneur Award (PNET) is scheduled to take place from October 22 to 23, 2026, in the Nando region, under the theme: “Tourism development of the regions: What approach?”
