Liptako: The Bogodogo University Hospital Center (CHU-B) initiated its Open Days and Excellence Days on Wednesday with the aim of increasing its visibility and effectively addressing the health needs of the community. “Your massive presence at the Bogodogo University Hospital Center (CHU-B) demonstrates the interest you place in health, this invaluable asset that constitutes the keystone of all human progress and sustainable development,” declared the Director General of CHU-B, Seydou Nombre.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Seydou emphasized that the Open Days (JPO) and Days of Excellence serve as a reminder that healthcare is a collective responsibility, not solely the concern of a single institution. He addressed the audience at the CHU-B premises during the inaugural editions of the JPO and excellence, highlighting the theme “Humanized care centered on the patient in a context of resilience of the health system.” This theme underscores the importance of viewing patients as dignified individuals with histories and expectations, rather than mere users of the hospital system.
Seydou Nombre explained that in the face of challenges like pandemics, security crises, and economic constraints, discussing the resilience of the health system signifies a collective resolve to innovate and progress despite adversity. He expressed hope that these days would foster both discovery and sustained performance in the health system, benefiting the populations served.
The Minister Delegate for Animal Resources, Dr. Amadou Dicko, representing the Minister of Agriculture, stated that health is a strategic investment for the future, not merely an expense. He noted that a healthy population contributes to an efficient workforce, well-educated children, and a just society. Dr. Dicko also paid tribute to the healthcare professionals who tirelessly preserve the lives of the population, referring to them as “silent sentinels” and “guardians of hope.”
Adama Luc Sorgho, the Minister of Infrastructure and Access to Landlocked Areas and patron of the 2025 Olympic Games, reinforced that health is a collective requirement beyond individual necessity. He noted that the Open Days are an opportunity for exchanges to develop a common vision for inclusive and accessible health for all. The events embody transparency and open dialogue, serving as a forum for constructive debates to build a resilient health system.
During these days, the Bogodogo hospital recognized outstanding agents from 2024 and 2023 and honored retiring officers. The 48-hour event includes activities like free medical consultations and screenings for breast and cervical cancer. The Open Days and Days of Excellence are chaired by the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Dr. Robert Lucien Jean Claude Kargougou.
