Bama: Soon, tarmac will be installed to access the Samendeni dam thanks to the Faso Mªbo presidential initiative. The Bama-Soungalodaga section, approximately 16 kilometers long and leading to the Samendeni dam, is being developed with a view to its asphalting in the coming months. The work is being carried out as part of the Faso Mªbo presidential initiative.
According to Burkina Information Agency, intense activity is visible on the ground: heavy green machinery, stamped Faso Mªbo, is digging ditches, pouring laterite, and clearing the way. Trees will also be felled to eliminate certain curves deemed dangerous, to make the road straighter and more accessible.
“We are very happy with the work that is currently being done. We had no traffic,” said a local resident, visibly satisfied with the progress of the work.
As an incentive, the coordination of citizen monitoring associations in Bama offered, on July 21, 2025, a ton of cement to the presidential initiative.
Beyond opening up the villages, paving is important for the Samendeni Integrated Development Programme (PDIS), which sees it as a lever to boost agricultural, fishing and tourist activities around the dam.
