14 Host Families Receive Essential Aid from Evangelical Church Development Office


Kourittenga: The Evangelical Church Development Office (ODE) in Koup©la has extended support to 14 host families caring for children with precarious mobility. The assistance includes both food and non-food items, valued at 1,380,000 FCFA.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the ODE’s initiative aims to bolster the resilience of foster families in the Kourittenga province. The donations, distributed on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, comprise a comprehensive package for each family: a 50kg bag of rice, a 5-litre can of oil, a mat, a kettle, a blanket, and a monetary contribution of 15,000 FCFA.



Emma Silga, a beneficiary from Pouytenga, expressed appreciation for the support, highlighting the reassurance and motivation it brings to the families. She emphasized her commitment to enhancing the welfare of the children in her care.



Prosper K. Soma, Project Manager for the Prevention and Fight against the Worst Forms of Child Labor (PPITE), stated that the support aligns with the Project’s activities. He acknowledged the vital role these families play in providing shelter and nourishment to children in need and emphasized the importance of supporting them to meet the children’s basic needs.



Sylvie Oboulbiga, the provincial director of humanitarian action in Kourittenga, praised the ODE’s efforts and commended the host families for their awareness and dedication to helping these children thrive. Oboulbiga also urged the public to continue showing solidarity with children facing precarious mobility circumstances, as their future relies on this support.
